This video is about Laser therapy For Knee Arthritis Transcript: Using high intensity laser therapy to treat osteoarthritis of the knee High-intensity laser therapy works extremely well for knee problems, especially, believe it or not, osteoarthritic knees. How does laser therapy work? The way it works is two-fold. It stimulates energy production within the cells, which speeds up the rate of healing. With the increase in energy, damaged cells repair very quickly; It also produces a compound in the cells that are mildly toxic. That compound is called reactive oxygen species or ‘ROS’, and when the cell experiences some of this compound, it goes into a ‘defensive’ mode because too much of this compound will actually damage the cell. Now we’d have to treat this for one to two hours to get too much of this compound, but with a knee, we are going to stop after about 10 minutes of treatment. When the cell goes into that defensive mode, it turns on genes for cell repair and cell rejuvenation. So all those damaged cells start repairing. Does laser therapy heal cartilage? Now the big question with osteoarthritis of the knee is, is this therapy actually repairing cartilage? Because it’s the cartilage that’s actually damaged. As we were taught in medical school, you can’t repair cartilage. Once the cartilage is gone, it’s gone, which is why there’s no cure for osteoarthritis. Research studies on animals show that when they administer laser therapy on rabbits with osteoarthritis, they actually regrow some of their cartilage. Whether that happens on humans or not, we don’t know, but what we do know is that most people can get good results in pain relief and an increase in range of movement, after just one session of laser therapy. Which is amazing as the osteoarthritis has probably taken thirty years to build up. That increase in movement and pain relief doesn’t last forever. They might just get one day to start with. It’s a cumulative thing. You get gradual healing. So normally for an arthritic condition, we say 10 to 14 treatments. What the patient can expect, apart from a nice comfortable warmth, is a gradual improvement in their condition over the coming weeks.

Laser therapy for arthritis. Arthritis is a chronic disease and till time its treatment includes reducing the pain that the patient feel. Laser therapy used for arthritis is also called as cold therapy and it is regarded as the best way to treat the arthritis. Laser therapy is a technique in which a beam of strong rays is applied to the affected area and these heat rays activates the cells and destroy the damaged and pain causing cells. In arthritis the pain is caused due to the swelling of the tissues and cells due to the lack of blood towards the painful and affected area. Laser therapy is used in the treatment of many medical conditions and is more effective than surgery and medications. In the treatment of arthritis, pain in the joints is the considerable point and it needs to be cured and treated to it maximum level. The placement of light rays above or below the affected areas activates the cells by improving the flow of blood towards hat area. Pain and destructions of cells and tissues in arthritis is caused due to lack of blood to that area. Laser therapy is used as a treatment with minimal side effects in the current century and it is easy to get the desired results as compared to other medications used. Laser therapy is the most advanced form used for the treatment of various diseases. Although in some cases it has side effects but these temporary side effects diminish with time the body’s functions become regular. For treating the arthritis and in minimizing the pain laser therapy is the best alternative designed. Various drug and nondrug treatments show unimpressive results for arthritis, level laser therapy is best alternative for minimizing the arthritic pain because as already mentioned in arthritis, pain is the main focusing point while considering and suggesting treatments for arthritis. Like all other health disorders, various treatment strategies have been introduced in medical field for treating arthritis. Laser treatment for arthritis is a vulnerable and advance form of treatment that is introduced. However, the side effects of the therapy are still controversial but laser treatment is being used at a large scale. When we talk about the effectiveness of the disease, we cannot forget the signs and symptoms of the diseases and one cannot mete out the effectiveness only by analyzing the signs and symptoms of the disease. Unlike other medication and treatments low level laser therapy has no side effect. Cold laser therapy is another form of laser treatment that has been seen very effective to treat the pain. Pain in the joints and mornings sickness and pains are two sings that ultimately demands various treatments because these pains are unbearable and laser treatment has been suggested to lessen the pain. Now laser therapy has been recommended to reduce the pain of arthritis generally and low laser therapy particularly to lessen the pain. After scanning near the spine with the Unwind Protocol at 1000 Hz, treat arthritis by slowly scanning around and inside affected joints with 50 Hz using the ACTIVet PRO Super Pulsed Laser. Clients can do follow up treatments at home using the My Pet Laser rental unit. Get the ACTIVet PRO Combo: http://www.multiradiance.com/veterinary/products/activet-pro-combo-package/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=unwind-arthritis Transcript: Hi, Mark Strong back with you. Chance is with us today and we're going to work on an arthritis condition. You know, this is such a common condition in your vet practice. We're going to use the Unwind Protocol first, but we don't really need to relax this dog too much, do we? Chance is really nice and chill, we've been working with him for a few minutes now and he's just really with the program. And that's what's so nice about our laser therapy, you're getting a nice endorphin response. You're not getting any pain reactions, you're not getting any overheating or thermal overloading of tissues, so consequently the animal stays very nice and calm. And that's what makes our rental laser program so popular too because you're taking stress out of the equation. When the animal gets to stay home with you to continue those treatments that you as a vet have prescribed, and your client goes home and everybody's all nice and relaxed, you're watching television, this is the ideal way to get the best outcomes from your laser therapy. So as we've talked about before, we'll power up the laser with our hand over the front. We'll say No to the self test. Yes to the ACTIVet PRO. The Unwind Protocol is at 1000 Hz, press select. And then we'll come up to 3 minutes and press the power button. You're seeing the red light flashing, you know that it's on. And then we just start at the base of the skull, and just scanning down about a centimeter per second, nice and slow. Unlike with a Class IV laser, you don't have to worry about having to go fast enough to not overheat the tissues. You're just running about a centimeter per second all the way down to the tail start. So as relaxed as he is, I think we can move on to the next phase of the protocol, which is to push stop, come back, and we're going to change up to 50 Hz. We've provided our inhibition, our pain relief along the spine and now we're going to use our stimulatory frequencies at the joints to improve blood flow and accelerate tissue repair by producing more ATP, adenosine triphosphate of course makes new healthy cells that will proliferate where they're needed. So at 50 Hz, we'll say select and we'll come up and go with 5 minutes, then just push our power button and we're back in business. So we can start back here in the hips and work right around those hips, apply some firm pressure but don't go too fast, just nice and slow at a centimeter per second all around that hip. And then you can gently flex it to get inside where that inflammation lives. And then come down to the next joint and treat radially and open up that joint to allow that light energy to get inside where that inflammation is. You're getting that combination of 660 nm, 875 nm broadband infrared, and of course your 905 super pulsed laser. So by just gently flexing it, you're getting that energy inside the joint where it can do the most good. And then just repeat that at each joint radially, about a minute to 2 minutes depending on the chronicity, age, and size of the animal. But just like this is plenty to start seeing some really nice results. And then repeat bilaterally on the other side. That's the Unwind Protocol with the arthritis protocol to improve blood flow and make more ATP to improve the healing and reduce first the arthritic pain and then the inflammation, and then the tissue repair to make our animal much more comfortable. And you'll be so amazed and impressed by the activity levels of your dog and how much happier they are when you take away that pain. This is a great way, with the My Pet Laser, to continue the treatments at home, so by sending your client home with our laser, they can use this at home just as easily with no stress, no worries, no anxiety, totally safe, and a series of treatments to give you a much better outcome and make that dog much happier for years to come. So compliant, so easy, so convenient for your customers, and so easy for the animal to accept their laser therapy treatment.

Littleton, Colorado chiropractor patient describes laser treatment for hand and finger arthritis using the K-laser at Evocare Center for Physical Health, 3500 South Wadsworth Boulevard, Suite 302, Lakewood, Colorado 80235, (303) 980-5699 Chiropractic clinic near Denver, Colorado provided Laser therapy for pain relief. This Denver chiropractor review was given voluntarily to share her experience with laser treatment for her hand and finger and arthritis. The laser used was not a cold laser or low level laser, it was a class IV laser which can penetrate deeper to help treat the symptoms of pain and inflammation of conditions such as osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis. Treatment can be effective and usually requires 4 or more treatments. Arthritis in hands and wrist and arthritis in feet or ankles can cause pain, discomfort and dysfunction. Symptoms of arthritis can come about slowly over time and may be debilitating. Class IV laser therapy as a treatment for arthritis may be an option for arthritis pain management.

Most people have heard of arthritis or have a family member that’s dealt with its debilitating effects. But it’s not as common to know specifics about this disease - such as the range of different types, signs and symptoms, and the multitude of ways to manage or treat it. You may be familiar with the two main types of arthritis, which include osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. But in actuality, arthritis and related joint problems show themselves in over 100 different ways, affecting over 50 million adults. And to the surprise of most folks, arthritis is America’s top reason for disability, according to the Arthritis Foundation. The main difference in the various types of arthritis is the way in which the condition starts. However, most forms of arthritis lead to similar symptoms - resulting in joints that are painful, swollen, and stiff. People can also experience different levels of these symptoms, which can linger for a continued period of time – or show themselves infrequently in spurts. But over time, someone with arthritis will eventually suffer from a reduced level of body movement, which can negatively impact their quality of life. It's possible for some types of arthritis to go into remission as long as the person keeps up with medical treatments and lifestyle recommendations. However, traditional medicine does not include a cure for arthritis. Instead, there’s a variety of different means that are used to manage the disease, including medication and surgery. In some cases, natural treatments may also be recommended by doctors, which can include vitamins, minerals and herbs, as well as massage, electrical stimulation, and hot and cold therapy. But most people - even those who are experimenting with alternative treatments for arthritis - may not be aware of red and near infrared light therapy – which has been studied extensively and found to be effective for improving this disease. Studies have supported its use in different types of arthritis and in various parts of the body. In fact, red and near infrared light therapy even shows promise in physically changing the condition of the joints. Learn more at joovv.com

Shane Shapiro, M.D., orthopedic physician at Mayo Clinic in Florida, discusses a regenerative medicine clinical research trial to treat knee arthritis, which is the bone marrow stem cell treatment (BMAC) for knee osteoarthritis. Mayo Clinic and the Mayo Center for Regenerative Medicine is studying biologically based non-surgical treatments for osteoarthritis. One such treatment is the harvesting of the patient's own stem cells from their bone marrow. "In our procedure we draw cellular rich bone marrow from both sides of the pelvis. We then filter the resulting product and concentrate the stem cells and their corresponding growth factors. Using an ultrasound to image the knee joint, we are then able to precisely inject the cells into the arthritic knee. We are currently demonstrating that this procedure is safe and can relieve pain. We also hope to be able to slow the progression of the degenerative joint disease and perhaps one day regrow cartilage in the arthritic joint." ----- See video of this procesure here: http://youtu.be/yUfuhLOgeBw (WARNING: graphic due to the nature of actual surgery footage) Learn more about the Mayo Clinic Center for Regenerative Medicine here: http://goo.gl/rnRdtU ----- Mayo Clinic... To treat one of the most common veterinary conditions, use the 50 Hz setting on the ACTIVet PRO laser. Slowly scan radially around the joints for 2 minutes and repeat on the other side. Request a quote or demo of the ACTIVet PRO: http://www.multiradiance.com/products/mr4activetpro?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=osteo Video transcript: Hi, Mark Strong back with you. Let's talk about osteoarthritis. Typically that is the biggest demographic of any companion animal practice as these dogs age, especially Goldens, they are very susceptible to arthritis, as you know, so chances are you have a lot of animals in your practice with arthritis, both dogs and cats. So first do the unwind protocol at 1,000 Hz to provide pain relief, and then let's go to the affected joints. We want to use 50 Hertz with those to reduce the inflammation. So set it up at 50 Hz for the ACTIVet PRO, press select and then we can talk about the time. We'll set that up for 10 minutes so that we can treat a large area at once, and just press to start. Again, you're seeing the visible red, the 640 nm visible red wavelength. And then also the 875 nm broadband and the 905 nm super pulsed laser. These are all working very synergistically together. So we'll work over these hips and just give it some light compression. One of the beautiful things about our super pulse laser is there is no thermal overloading of the tissues, so you're quite free to press against those tissues, move blood and fat out of the way and get right into those joints. Oftentimes we can get them to roll over a little bit. We'll treat radially around that joint, and then with one arm we'll just simply flex the leg a little bit so we can get into those articular surfaces because it feels so good. Tolerance is really beautiful. So we just flex that joint, get inside those surfaces where the inflammation lives. Treating radially around each joint and repeat on the other side. Even if there's arthritis only on one side, of course which is unusual, but in all cases we want to treat bilaterally. There will be compensation taking place as they get older, so we want to treat bilaterally always. But it's just that simple to work on osteoarthritis with the 50 Hz. Gently flexing the joint radially around that joint to get that energy right inside.

http://brighttherapy.com/light-therapy-comparison/ What is the difference between LED Light Therapy and Low Level Laser Therapy? Which is more effective? Both LED Light Therapy treatments and Low Level Laser Treatments (LLLT) work on the same principle of bio-stimulation (also known as photo-stimulation). Bio-stimulation is caused by single frequency coherent light stimulating the Mitochondria in the cell, which makes more ATP, energizing the cell. This in turn increases blood circulation allowing the cells to reproduce faster. The byproduct of this effect is that the cells act like healthier younger cells fighting bacteria better, producing more collagen and healing much faster. This is why LED Light Therapy and Low Level Laser therapy is used for so many conditions. Coherent light is the key here and the light leaving from a laser is coherent while an LED's light is not. (Coherent light is light that is all traveling at the same frequency.) Normally this would lead you to believe that LED must not be effective. However, the light from an LED turns coherent as it travels though the cell. This is because our buddies and cells are about 80% water and as the LED light passes though the cell a portion of it turns coherent. You can see this effect easily when you look into the bottom of a pool and see the concentration of light in some places. This light is coherent. Without a doubt, Laser light treatment times are shorter as all the light stays coherent. But the laser beams coverage area is directional requiring you to move the laser from place to place. On the other hand, LED light therapy can cover a much larger area as the light is non directional but only a portion of the light is coherent requiring longer treatment times. Which is better really is a question of how you plan to treat you skin. Some people prefer having a light in a fixed place while others like to hold a device to their skin. And others would like to do the treatments as quickly as possible but some people prefer to have longer treatments. Our opinion is that both are good. Using both at the same time is the best solution (like our Laser Hair brush which has Lasers and LEDs) as you know you're getting the full effect from a laser while at the same time you can be sure you are hitting all areas with the LED.
