Dental insurance FAQ: Getting the most from your dental plan
Dental insurance is confusing. With all the political changes in healthcare, dental insurance benefits are changing too. When a dentist goes out of network on a PPO, it's usually because they don't get paid enough by the insurance to make a profit at their business. When you have a dentist that uses quality materials and the best technology, they actually lose money. You shouldn't just go online and "throw a dart at the board" from among the dentists that take your insurances in-network. A lot of dentists that accept "in-network" insurances are driven on a model where they have to upsell you things in order to make up for the lost income on insurances. That means most often that there's a lot of hidden charges in your bill. It's like buying an airline ticket, and then they charge you for baggage fees and snacks. In order to continue giving people the best care, we're going out of network with some PPO insurances. To save the most money, when you come in, talk with our financial coordinator prior to any major treatment. This way, you can get an estimate of what your fees will be, and get options. You'll be able to get an idea of what your insurance will pay for and what your out of pocket expenses will be. We can also show you any hidden downgrade fees. For example, instead of a white filling - some insurances will only pay for a mercury filling (which we don't do). Sometimes instead of white crown, they'll only pay for a metal one. In the end our top priority is patient care. This means actual time with patients, quality materials and the latest tech that allows us to do the best work possible.

Dental Insurance Options
Medicare Open Enrollment. Complete Medicare Resource Center here: http://www.MedicareonVideo.com 1-877-88KEITH (53484) DENTAL INSURANCE OPTION Dental insurance is the least popular of all insurance benefits that people may carry. Most of the time, even employer sponsors health care plans will not combine medical and health insurance. A lot of medical types insurance plans cover an emergency dental care, particular restrictions that apply to coverage. There is also a routine dental care examination, cleaning, fillings and so forth. In fact, dental coverage is always limited to repair, otherwise naturally sound tooth which suffers from damage as a result of an accident or an injury. Just as you surely do when managing and running your own business, you need to think outside the box to find low-cost dental insurance. Small business owners are used to getting creative to find affordable insurance coverage of all types because there is no employer to help offset the cost of coverage for them. Dental insurance options for small business owners are unfortunately limited. As some dental insurance consumer will tell you, the need for dental insurance is a must, for instance, Michigan dental insurance is bought to offset the costs associated with dental care. The mere thought of out-of-pocket expenses prevents many Americans from receiving routine and necessary dental treatment. In the state of Michigan, options are available for consumers who seek dental insurance coverage. Obviously, for individuals who have group coverage, then their needs are met. But for the self-employed individual or consumer who receives no benefits, you do have choices. Various dental plans are available for consumers that are designed to help keep costs down and offset prices associated with regular and emergency dental care. Now, these plans do have limitations on numbers of visits, X-Rays, etc. Added to that, some services may be excluded from covered expenses. Dental insurance in Michigan includes plans like these: 1. Network Plans - Considered to be the most popular, when consumers chose a network plan they have to select a dentist within their particular network. By doing this, you accept the network price, which usually is very affordable. 2. Indemnity Plans - An indemnity plan allows you to select your dentist. Considered fee for service, the majority of these plans have co-pay options. So in turn, you pay a flat fee for your visit, but with an annual limit on coverage Another popular option within the state for coverage include Michigan discount dental insurance plans. These types of programs work differently than the insurance plans mentioned above. First, a discount plan does use a network of providers. However, after that, the plan differs tremendously for consumers. A discount plan has no maximum amount of benefits for a deductible year. The plan works with an agreeable amount for each service that both you and your dentist agree to within the plan. This can never change, and again there is no limit on benefits. A range of dental insurance options is available in some state like California. California is well provided regarding dental insurance companies. Being one of the bigger, more populous states California dental insurance comes in many different types like individual, family, comprehensive, limited cover and so on. The higher premiums get better cover. Dental Insurance California is provided by many different dental insurance companies in the State of California. The demand for dental insurance is on the rise as more and more people realise the importance of having these policies which can safeguard their dental health.Ensuring that you get the maximum benefits from your dental insurance California plan is entirely in the hands of the Dental Reimbursement Plans Dental reimbursement plan cannot be considered as insurance but instead, this is an agreement between an employer and employee. It works when you pay for your dental care services and forwards the receipt to your employer, and they will reimburse your expenses within a specified amount. With this, both you and your employer will never again worry about paying dental plan premiums every month. Do NOT Crown Your Tooth! - Partial Crown (Cosmetic Dentistry)
There is a good chance that you have or have been recommended to get a dental crown, but you may have never heard of a much more conservative and healthier option that will work in many cases instead of full dental crowns. Today I will explain the advantages of Partial Crowns also know as ¾ crowns or onlays, over full coverage crowns. I will use a clinical example and show you how at Innovative Dental we are able to improve oral health for our patients by saving considerable amount of tooth structure by performing more conservative dental care with partial crowns. Cosmetic Dentist Dr. O shows the dental crowns procedure at Innovative Dental can help save your tooth and improve your oral health. Cosmetic Dentistry allows us to esthetically and functionally use partial dental crowns, also called inlays and onlays as a great option to fixing teeth with a large cavity while not removing nearly as much tooth structure as a full crown. Dental crowns can many times be a pretty aggressive treatment for a fairly simple problem. Partial Crowns or ¾ crowns are designed to help maintain a considerable amount more of your healthy tooth. For example, tooth decay that destroys one half of the tooth may be able to easily be treated with a partial crown rather than a full crown. Partial Crowns are better at treating the diseased portion of the tooth and Full crowns are more like treating the organ. By keeping more of your natural tooth to help maintain your oral health, we can help avoid tooth pain that is sometimes associated with larger amounts of tooth removal. The ability to make the porcelain dental crown in our office with the CEREC 3D Imaging and Milling machine allows us to avoid the need of a temporary or goopy impression. Because we are able to bond the permanent partial crown in the very same day we can encourage a more healthier approach that just treats the cavity rather than the whole tooth. Many crowns are chosen over partial crowns or (inlays or onlays) because full crowns are more simplistic to temporize. The temporary concern does not exist with the latest technology. In this video you will see a dental crown procedure that fixes 2 large cavities and cracks in 2 separate teeth. This example of has 2 teeth that in many offices would be 2 crowns. You will see how we were able to use a porcelain partial crown to save a lot of tooth structure and give the patient a much healthier and stronger result. We would love to help you achieve your best smile! Give our team a call to see how we can make traveling to our practice for your smile an amazing and life changing experience! Does Medicare Cover Dental? What About Dental Crowns And Dentures?
Get Instant Access http://free-mini-course.com In this video I answer the question, "Does Medicare cover dental?" I also discuss what dental expenses are covered and which are not. Tips are given on choosing a Medicare Plan to increase dental coverage. Senior dental insurance is expensive so it's only natural to expect that dental is covered by the Medicare program. After all, routine dental and restorative procedures such as dental crowns, bridges and dentures can put a big dent in your budget. Medicare was never intended to offer comprehensive coverage. Dental, vision and hearing aides are seen as extras and the focus is on inpatient stays and outpatient procedures, doctor's visits and tests. Many people think that buying a Medicare supplement will give them dental coverage, but sadly this is not the case. A Medicare Advantage Plan will often include extra benefits like dental and vision. Medicare Advantage dental benefits can come in one of two ways. Benefits can be as a dental discount or as a dental insurance rider. If you would like to compare Medicare Supplement insurance vs Medicare Advantage, get my 8 Part Video Mini-Course. It will unlock the information you need to choose the best plan for your circumstances. RSU Opt-Out Changes: No more Cheques, but maybe a headache?
The Ryerson Students' Union has changed their health and dental opt-out process. Students with health and dental coverage can opt out of the RSU's plan and receive a refund, this year, of $295. Instead of waiting in line for a cheque, it will be refunded to their student fees account. But now the trouble is separating the refund from tuition charges. Reporter Angelyn Francis sat down with RSU vice-president operations Obaid Ullah to talk about the changes.

MEDICARE: Dental, Vision, & Hearing Coverage
http://www.FirstMedicareAdvisors.com - - Recorded Hotline: 1-800-958-8171 - Office: 1-800-825-2919. - - Email: info@firstmedicareadvisors.com - - PS: No Sales Pitches Ever! We hate them much as you do! This video speaks about Medicare and dental, vision and hearing coverage. Dental coverage is a subject of great interest to many, many people transitioning onto Medicare. Medicare and dental coverage? You would never guess how many calls I get each day from my supplement clients that want to know what Medicare covers concerning dental work. When we were gainfully employed, most of us had individual or group insurance coverage that had dental plans. These plans covered such things as checkups, fillings, root canals, crowns and a whole host of other things. These were procedures we used to keep our teeth healthy. Unfortunately, what we consider as good dental care, Medicare considers “medically unnecessary.” Medicare defines what it covers as “acute care” or life threating. Dental care does not fall into the “critical care” column. What type of dental work might be covered by Medicare? It must be an “acute care” type of medical procedure. For example, if you are in a car wreck and your mouth is severely damaged with broken bones and damaged teeth. Medicare might cover the costs. However, it will be up to your surgeon or doctor to convince Medicare to provide the coverages as “medically necessary” to save your life. Another area that might be considered “acute care” would be if you had some type oral cancer. I know of one individual that had oral cancer and his dental work was declined. The doctor tried to get it approved and but Medicare would not cover the reconstructive surgery. Medicare did approve the surgical removal of this person’s jaw bone. There was considerable nerve damage due to this procedure. Again, no Medicare approved coverage for making this person life a little more livable. The best option would be to purchase an individual dental insurance policy. You can enroll in it apart from Medicare. It will cover the normal things, like exams, x-rays, cleanings, fillings, crowns, or root canals. There are several dental plans available in the marketplace. What you should look for is a program without restricted networks, the benefits are available immediately, and there is no waiting period for care. Another option, you might work with your dental professional for your care to see if they are willing to give retiree discounts for their services. They might also work out payment agreements with you for the more expensive procedures. My dentist didn’t, yours might, so it’s worth taking the time to ask. Medicare provides services for injuries, sicknesses and “acute care” conditions. Routine dental, visual and hearing are outside of that umbrella. We can help you make other arrangements for your dental care once you make the change over to Medicare. You are welcome to give us a call for help with your dental, vision and hearing coverages. Our number is 1-800-825-2919. I promise you’ll get an answer that’ll point you in the right direction. Or, if you prefer, give our office a call on our Recorded Hotline. That number is 1-800-958-8171. Then record your question or request, and we’ll get back with you. If you’re not comfortable with calling - send us an email to info@firstmedicareadvisors.com. Medicare Open Enrollment 2018 - What to do... What not to do...
Medicare Open Enrollment 2018. Complete Medicare Resource Center here: http://www.MedicareonVideo.com 1-877-88KEITH (53484) Medicare Open Enrollment 2018 starts from October 15th to December 7t h. During this time, all Medicare members can update or alter their medical protection schemes. This includes changes to current Medicare healthcare plans that will come into effect in 2019. Learning of the purpose for enrollment and the options available, can help you best prepare for updated medical and prescription coverage. Your Options for Medicare Enrollment 2018 During the Open Enrollment period for Medicare, all registered members are provided the chance to change their healthcare plan. If you wish to upgrade your prescription cover or completely change your general healthcare program, the Medicare Open Election period 2019 allows you to do so easily and conveniently. You can upgrade your Medicare Advantage Plan or your Medicare Part D plan or prescription benefits. Qualifying seniors over the age of 65 years who qualify for Medicare plans may find their cover insufficient for their specific wellness, clinical and chronic care needs. Unfortuantely, you cannot alter your coverage halfway through the year if you find it does not provide what you are looking for. The enrollment period between October and early December offers the chance to make these amendments that become active in January 2018. For Medicare Advantage or prescription cover, members can complete their updates during the stipulated enrollment period with ease. There is no need to register membership for the change in protection or fill out lengthy and complex forms. For those who reside in a chronic care facility or have received a diagnosis of End Stage Renal Disease, you will not be eligible to enroll for the Medicare Advantage Plan at this time. Notice of Change You may receive an Annual Notice of Change or ANOC for the enrolment period, but documents received through the course of the year concerning your healthcare plan should be reviewed. If you wish to alter the policy, you must learn which options or modifications to plans, can better meet personal health needs. Remaining aware of policy features including the extent of cover, benefits and costs can help you determine whether your current medical care plan is sufficient for the new year. If you are satisfied with your protection, simply leave the cover unchanged and it will continue into the new year. Where dissatisfaction with a policy is apparent, be sure to amend your cover during the 2018 Medicare Enrollment period. Enrollment Restrictions You cannot register for a Part B Medicare plan if you are applying for cover for the first time during enrollment. If you are interested in changing your coverage from a Medicare Advantage to a Medigap plan, it cannot be initiated without completing a medical questionnaire. Important Medicare 2018 Enrollment Considerations Learn whether your current prescriptions will continue to be covered in the new year. Part D Medicare patients may be protected for specific prescriptions in 2018 only to have to pay a deductible or co-payment for a certain category of medication owing to changes in suppliers. Your Open Enrollment allows you to update your prescription policy ensuring your medication is comprehensively covered in 2018. During an Open Enrollment, carefully assess your plans to prevent excessive costs for your healthcare in the new term. Is TriCare Dental Insurance Worth It?
Bernard Harris, a retired active duty service member talks about the TriCare Dental Insurance - is TriCare Dental worth it? In short - no. Bernard says that the TriCare health insurance for retired military members does offer fine health care, the dental insurance is not in that league. Like many forms of pure dental insurance, TriCare Dental can be expensive and limited in coverage. The fact that military members, both active and retired, are used to the coverage and the deductions that come with the payments, there are better alternatives available. One such alternative that has a proven track record of saving military members money for than 20 years is the AmeriPlan Dental Plus discount dental plan. For a small monthly fee of $24.95 (which is a small fraction of the cost of pure dental insurance) members get unlimited dental discounts on practically all dental services including dentures and braces. And, the plan covers an entire household - children, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. There are no pre-existingcoverage exclusions except for orthodontic work that is in-progress. Listen to Bernard briefly discuss the merits of the TriCare insurance vs. AmeriPlan Dental Plus discount dental plan and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the savings that AmeriPlan can offer vs.TriCare Dental insurance. How Health Insurance Works
When I consider purchasing an individual health insurance plan for myself or my family, do I have any financial obligations beyond the monthly premium and annual deductible? Answers: It depends on the plan, but some plans have the following cost-sharing elements that you should be aware of. Co-Payments: Some plans include a co-payment, which is typically a specific flat fee you pay for each medical service, such as $30 for an office visit. After the co-payment is made, the insurance company typically pays the remainder of the covered medical charges. Deductibles: Some plans include a deductible, which typically refers to the amount of money you must pay each year before your health insurance plan starts to pay for covered medical expenses. Coinsurance: Some plans include coinsurance. Coinsurance is a cost sharing requirement that makes you responsible for paying a certain percentage of any costs. The insurance company pays the remaining percentage of the covered medical expenses after your insurance deductible is met. Out-of-pocket limit: Some plans include an out-of-pocket limit. Typically, the out-of-pocket limit is the maximum amount you will pay out of your own pocket for covered medical expenses in a given year. The out-of-pocket limit typically includes deductibles and coinsurance. But, out-of-pocket limits don't typically apply to co-payments. Lifetime maximum: Most plans include a lifetime maximum. Typically the lifetime maximum is the amount your insurance plan will pay for covered medical expenses in the course of your lifetime. Exclusions & Limitations: Most health insurance carriers disclose exclusions & limitations of their plans. It is always a good idea to know what benefits are limited and which services are excluded on your plan. You will be obligated to pay for 100% of services that are excluded on your policy. Beginning September 23, 2010, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (health care reform) begins to phase out annual dollar limits. Starting on September 23, 2012, annual limits on health insurance plans must be at least $2 million. By 2014 no new health insurance plan will be permitted to have an annual dollar limit on most covered benefits. Some health insurance plans purchased before March 23, 2010 have what is called "grandfathered status." Health Insurance Plans with Grandfathered status are exempt from several changes required by health care reform including this phase out of annual limits on health coverage. If you purchased your health insurance policy after March 23, 2010 and you're due for a routine preventive care screening like a mammogram or colonoscopy, you may be able to receive that preventive care screening without making a co-payment. You can talk to your insurer or your licensed eHealthInsurance agent if you need help determining whether or not you qualify for a screening without a co-payment. There are five important changes that occurred with individual and family health insurance policies on September 23, 2010. Those changes are: 1. Added protection from rate increases: Insurance companies will need to publically disclose any rate increases and provide justification before raising your monthly premiums. 2. Added protection from having insurance canceled: An insurance company cannot cancel your policy except in cases of intentional misrepresentations or fraud. 3. Coverage for preventive care: Certain recommended preventive services, immunizations, and screenings will be covered with no cost sharing requirement. 4. No lifetime maximums on health coverage: No lifetime limits on the dollar value of those health benefits deemed to be essential by the Department of Health and Human Services. 5. No pre-existing condition exclusions for children: If you have children under the age of 19 with pre-existing medical conditions, their application for health insurance cannot be declined due to a pre-existing medical condition. In some states a child may need to wait for the state's open-enrollment period before their application will be approved.

FERS Retirement Benefits Explained (A quick guide for busy employees)
“You work for the government. You must have a great retirement!” As a FERS employee, you have 7 distinct retirement benefits to help you retire comfortably! Here's a quick guide to help you understand more about each benefit. ****To help you keep track of these benefits, I have this super simple and handy FERS benefit guide—I call it the The 7 Superheroes of FERS Retirement Benefits. You can get it free. Just go to https://www.fersblueprint.com/p/seven. This video is brought to you by the FERS Blueprint Online Retirement Training. We believe that it shouldn’t be so hard to get into retirement training, and that you should be able to learn when you want to and at your own pace. Now you can at the FERS Blueprint. Take a class today! https://www.fersblueprint.com ______________ It’s helpful to think of the benefits in terms of what they do for you in retirement. The first three benefits are income-based, which means money in your pocket. The next four benefits are insurance-based, which means “rainy day” protection for you and your family. Each benefit is subject to eligibility requirements. 1 FERS PENSION. You can get a monthly check from the FERS pension for as long as you live in retirement. Plus, there’s a benefit for your spouse if you pass away first. The amount you get in retirement is based upon how long you worked for the Federal government, what age you retire and how much you earned. There is an additional benefit that you may receive called FERS Supplement (sometimes it’s referred to as the “Social Security” Supplement). It’s only for eligible, long-term employees who retire under age 62. This is a separate benefit from FERS pension. 2 SOCIAL SECURITY. You can get a monthly check for as long as you live, with a potential benefit for your spouse if you pass away first. The amount you receive from Social Security is based upon how much money you earned over your entire work history (not just Federal employment) and at what age you are when you start receiving your benefit. You can start receiving your benefit as young as 62, but your benefit will be permanently reduced. The older you are, the more you’ll receive each month (maximum at age 70). 3 THRIFT SAVINGS PLAN. TSP is a different from FERS and Social Security. That’s because it’s a retirement savings plan—the amount you get from TSP is based upon how much you saved, your FERS Match and how the investments performed. You can choose to receive a monthly check from TSP, but there are also many other ways to set up income from TSP in retirement. Keep in mind that there are IRS age requirements. TSP offers a Traditional TSP and a Roth TSP. The investment options remain the same in retirement. 4 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES HEALTH BENEFITS (FEHB). This benefit provides health insurance for you, your spouse and eligible dependents that you can take into retirement. The share of cost and choices stay the same in retirement. You, as the employee, must meet eligibility requirements. 5 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES DENTAL AND VISION INSURANCE PROGRAM (FEDVIP). This benefit provides dental and/or vision insurance for you, your spouse and eligible dependents that you can take into retirement. The share of cost and choices stay the same in retirement. 6 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES GROUP LIFE INSURANCE (FEGLI). This benefit provides life insurance for you, your spouse and eligible dependents that you can take into retirement. The share of cost may change; however, there are flexible choices to suit your needs. Some options may even be free of charge in retirement. You, your spouse, and eligible dependents must meet eligibility requirements. 7 FEDERAL LONG TERM CARE INSURANCE PROGRAM (FLTCiP). This benefit provides long term care insurance coverage for you, your spouse and eligible family members. You can take existing coverage with you into retirement; or apply for coverage after you retire. When shopping for Medicare coverage, ask about dental and vision care
sk about dental and vision care Original Medicare, parts A and B, will pay for certain vision and dental services, but routine care and check-ups are not covered. Many Medicare Advantage plans include coverage for dental and vision care, but not all of them. If these benefits are important to you, check to see if the Medicare Advantage plan you’re considering provides those benefits. If the plan doesn’t provide routine dental and vision, or if you’re buying a Medigap plan, you can also research “stand-alone” dental and vision insurance plans. http://www.ehealthmedicare.com

What is DENTAL INSURANCE? What does DENTAL INSURANCE mean? DENTAL INSURANCE meaning & explanation
What is DENTAL INSURANCE? What does DENTAL INSURANCE mean? DENTAL INSURANCE meaning - DENTAL INSURANCE definition - DENTAL INSURANCE explanation. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Dental insurance is a form of health insurance designed to pay a portion of the costs associated with dental care. There are several different types of individual, family, or group dental insurance plans grouped into three primary categories: Indemnity, Preferred Provide Network (PPO), and Dental Health Managed Organizations (DHMO). Generally dental offices have a fee schedule, or a list of prices for the dental services or procedures they offer. Dental insurance companies have similar fee schedules which is generally based on Usual and Customary dental services, an average of fees in an area. The fee schedule is commonly used as the transactional instrument between the insurance company, dental office and/or dentist, and the consumer. With indemnity dental plans, the insurance company generally pays the dentist a percentage of the cost of services. Restrictions may include the co-payment requirements, waiting period, stated deductible, annual limitations, graduated percentage scales based on the type of procedure, and the length of time that the policy has been owned. Dental Health Maintenance Organization plans entail dentists contracting with a dental insurance company that provider agrees to accept an insurance fee schedule and give their customers a reduced cost for services as an In-Network Provider. Many DHMO insurance plans have little or no waiting periods and no annual maximum benefit limitations, while covering major dental work near the start of the policy period. This plan is sometimes purchased to help defray the high cost of the dental procedures. Some dental insurance plans offer free semi-annual preventative treatment. Fillings, crowns, implants and dentures may have various limitations. In the United States, Participating Provider Network or PPO also referred to as Preferred Provider Organization is an organization governed by medical doctors, hospitals, other health centers and medical care providers. This organization has an agreement with an insurer or the third party administrator to provide health insurance to the people associated with their client at reduced or low rates. Participating Provider Network plan may work similar to a DHMO while using an In-Network facility. However, a PPO allows Out-of-Network or Non-Participating Providers to be used for service. Any difference of fees will become the financial responsibility of the patient, unless otherwise specified. Dental insurance companies divide benefits, services, or procedures into categories and refer to them with American Dental Association (ADA) 3-4 digit code. As an example, Preventative and Diagnostic procedures often include exams (ADA code 0120), x-rays (ADA code 0210), and basic cleanings or prophylaxis (ADA code 1110). Basic procedures often include fillings, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. Major procedures often are crowns, dentures, and implants. Procedures such as periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery may be considered major, depending on the policy. Some dental insurance plans may have an annual maximum benefit limit. Thus, once the annual maximum benefit is exhausted any additional treatments may become the patient's responsibility. Each year that annual maximum is reissued. The reissued date may vary as a calendar year, company fiscal year, or date of enrollment based on your specific plan.
