One of the major factors for losing weight, is to not eat after 7 PM. Your last meal should be at 4, or, 5 PM. You will help your body burn more fat by eating 3 small meals, or, 2 meals and a salad for dinner. Soft drinks are highly forbidden as is alcohol. Drink plenty of herbal teas and lemon water. Skipping meals is forbidden as well. You can go for early dinner, or late breakfast, but never skip a meal. If you’re looking to add more protein in your diet, you can go with cauliflower, asparagus, or, string beans. Our body can eliminate the excess fluids on its own, through urine, or sweat. However, when its function is affected, the fluid starts accumulating in the tissues, and causes swelling. The swelling is most prominent in legs, feet, ankles, hands, and sometimes even in face. This is known as peripheral edema. There are two types of edema. pitting edema, and non-pitting edema. In pitting edema, an indentation is formed, when pressured is applied on the swollen area. This indentation will persist for sometime, even after the pressure is released. The causes for pitting edema are: Sitting for too long. Congestive heart failure. High intake of Sodium. Deficiency of Potassium and magnesium. Pregnancy. Medication side effects. Wearing tight socks, etc., In non-pitting edema, indentation is not formed when pressure is applied. Non-pitting edema is caused due to disorders in lymphatic system. Non-pitting edema is more serious, and difficult to treat, than pitting edema. Whatever might be the reasons for swelling and fluid retention, you must consult your doctor, immediately. However, there are some home remedies you could take, to reduce swelling in the body. 1. Drink water. Drinking less than the recommended amount of water, which is 6-8 glasses a day, can dehydrate your body, and is very dangerous to your health. In cases of dehydration, the body tries to rehydrate itself, by taking water from different tissues, which may lead to fluid retention and other serious health problems. 2. Reduce the intake of sodium. Sodium is present in almost any of the foods we eat every day, so it’s really hard to avoid. However, consuming too much of it can cause numerous health problems, including fluid retention. 3. Avoid processed foods. Processed foods are rich in sugar and sodium, which are among the main risk factors for fluid retention, and a variety of other diseases and conditions. You must avoid processed foods as much as possible. 4. Eat potassium, and magnesium rich foods. Potassium deficiency has been linked to fluid imbalance, as well as improperly functioning organs. Magnesium is very important for our health, and we need about 200 mg of it a day. In case of these deficiencies, the body will experience fluid retention. So make sure to eat nuts, seeds, whole grains, and avocado, in order to optimize the levels of the minerals in your body. 6. Eat Vitamin B6 rich food. Lack of this vitamin, is one of the main causes of fluid retention. Eat more tuna, pistachios, bananas, chicken, and sunflower seeds, in order to resolve the problem. 7. Exercise. In order to prevent fluid retention, exercise is key. Start being physically active today, in order to keep the levels of fluids in your body regulated, and keep everything functioning properly. Go for a walk, run, or swim, and aim for 30 minutes of exercise per day 3 times a week, or more, if you have the time. 8. Elevate your legs. While sleeping, or resting, elevate your legs with a pillow, to reduce the swelling in your ankles, and prevent accumulation of fluids in your joints. 9. Don't wear tight clothes. Wearing tight clothes can impair your circulation, and cause numerous problems. Also, don't wear socks which are too tight. 9 Foods You Should Never Eat If You Have Joint Pain and Arthritis These are, the 9 foods, that you must avoid as far as possible, if you have arthritis, and joint pain. I'm not saying that, you should completely eliminate them from your diet, but, you should try to minimize their consumption, especially, if you have arthritis. These foods, can worsen your already painful joint pains. 1. Fried & Processed Foods. Fried foods are rich in toxins called, advanced glycation end products, also called as, AGE. These toxins, boost the oxidation in the cells, and thus aggravate the inflammation. So, when choosing processed foods, read the label, and make sure that, they don't have more than 2-3 ingredients. 2. Refined Carbohydrates. Processed carbohydrates, from white flour products like, bread, crackers, white rice, or, white potatoes, have high glycemic index, and thus trigger inflammation. Instead, consume complex carbohydrates, such as, peas, beans, and green vegetables. 3. Gluten & Wheat. Processed Sugar. Processed sugar triggers, the release of inflammatory messengers, called cytokines, which can worsen your joint pains. For example, bananas are labeled with the code of 4-0-1-1. A five-digit code that starts with a "8", means the product is genetically modified. The label on genetically modified tomato would contain the number 8-4-8-0-5. A five-digit code that starts with a "9", means the product is organic. Organic bananas are labeled as 9-4-0-1-1. EWG, the Environmental Working Group, analyzed pesticide residue testing data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and FDA, to come up with rankings for these popular fresh produce items. The EWG notes that 99% of apples, 98% of peaches, and 97% of nectarines, all tested positive for at least one pesticide residue, while the average white potato had more pesticides by weight than any other produce! The following foods have very high pesticide loads, and should always be purchased organic, or grow yourself! Apples, Celery, Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Grapes, Hot Peppers, Nectarines, Peaches, Potatoes, Spinach, Strawberries, Sweet Bell Peppers, Kale or Collard Greens, and Summer Squash. The following foods were found by EWG to be relatively low in pesticide residue. They may be good conventional options for those on a budget. Asparagus, Avocados, Cabbage, Cantaloupe, Non-GMO Sweet Corn, Eggplant, Grapefruit, Kiwi, Mangoes, Mushrooms, Onions, Non-GMO Papayas, Pineapples, Sweet Peas and Sweet Potatoes. The Environmental Protection Agency warns that the consumption of pesticides can lead to health problems such as, birth defects, nerve damage, cancer, and other effects that might occur over a long period of time. Add more plants to your menu, vegetables, sprouts, greens and fresh fruits. Herbs and mints like parsley, licorice, rosemary, oregano, celery and cilantro are very useful for neutral body odor. You can use it, to get rid of acne marks and scars. Aspirin contains an ingredient known as beta hydroxy acid, a salicylic acid whose main function is to cleanse, and exfoliate the skin. Beta hydroxy acid softens the keratin of the stratum corneum, and helps to accelerate its desquamation. For this reason, beta hydroxy acid is used in cosmetic treatments, to cure skin imperfections. INGREDIENTS. Five aspirin tablets. Two tablespoons of honey. One tablespoon of natural yogurt. PREPARATION. Place all the ingredients in a blender. Mix them well until a homogeneous paste is obtained. Let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. HOW TO USE. First, wash your face with plenty of warm water, to remove any trace of dirt. After rinsing your face, take a small soft cloth, and dip in hot water. Place the cloth on your face to open the pores, and assimilate the aspirin mask in a better way. You should leave the cloth on your face, for at least 10 minutes. Then dry your face with another cloth, and apply the mask on all parts of your face, avoiding contact with eyes and mouth. Let the mask rest for about half an hour. Once the mask has rested, remove it from your face with plenty of lukewarm water. Moisturize your face with the cream you use regularly. Keep in mind that, it is a very strong treatment, that can leave marks on the skin for a few hours. So, it is best to apply the mask overnight. In addition, if your skin is very sensitive, it is recommended that before applying the mask, try putting a little of it on some section of your skin, to see if it causes any adverse reaction. High levels of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood can cause heart and circulatory problems. They are formed in the body due to different reasons and have different functions as well. Triglycerides store excess calories and provide energy to the body whenever it is needed. It means, if you eat more than your body needs, the excess calories are converted into triglycerides. So, the easiest way to reduce the triglyceride levels in the blood is to EAT LESS. Cholesterol, on the other hand, is formed due to a fat rich diet, especially of saturated and trans-fat. Cholesterol is need by the body to build certain cells and hormones. So, the easiest way to reduce the cholesterol levels is to EAT LESS FATTY FOOD. In short, triglycerides levels depend on HOW MUCH YOU EAT, and Cholesterol levels depends on WHAT YOU EAT.
